Become a Reserve

A. Preliminary Requirements

  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Must possess a valid drivers license with acceptable driving history
  • Complete the part time employment application (Available at the Tupelo City Hall )
  • Pass a thorough background check
  • Complete an in-person Interview
  • Completed High School or GED

B. Secondary Requirements

  • Complete the required curriculum set forth by the State of Mississippi Board of Minimum Standards. (Academic and Physical Fitness standards)
  • All Tupelo Police Reserves must complete the field-training program after graduating from the North Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Academy. This probationary period ranges from six (6) to twelve (12) months depending on the individuals available time.
  • Become familiar with and follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) set forth by the Tupelo Police Department.
